DESCRIPTION:Happy New Year!  We started this week with the Feast of the Holy Family (Sunday) and the Solemnity of Mary (Monday).  Now let’s finish the week strong by observing the First Saturday Devotions requested by our Blessed Mother and learning more about Our Lady of Victory!   \nCome join us at our next Men’s Breakfast Saturday\, January 6\, 2024\, at the Fatima Shrine.  This month we will have a slightly different twist\, as our guest\, Michael Sacilowski\, will be putting on a one-man performance titled: “She Did it All!”  Michael will be portraying the Venerable Nelson Baker.   \nYou’ll hear the life story of Father Nelson Baker through a live\, theatrical one-man presentation. Father. Baker came from a typical family in Buffalo\, NY\, see how he placed his life in the hands of Our Lady of Victory while also dedicating his life to the marginalized\, poor\, and orphaned. See how Father Baker recovered from a deadly infection\, on the brink of death\, only to lead him to discover this lasting devotion to the Blessed Mother. Witness how his trust in Mary’s intercession transformed a bankrupt orphanage and protectory into one of the greatest institutions of its kind in America. Accompany Father Baker as he guided thousands of orphaned and wayward boys by educating their minds and hearts while also providing them with the tools necessary to become respectable citizens\, husbands\, and fathers. Listen to how he then built a basilica to give thanks and honor to the Mother of God for her constant patronage.   \nMichael received a Master of Arts Degree in Theology at Christ the King Seminary in 2015.  While studying and learning at the Seminary he was given the assignment in Father Rick Reina’s Spirituality class to dress up and present the spirituality of someone.  He chose St. Benedict and took a liking to this medium.  Ever since then\, he has presented many one-man Saint plays through the years and throughout the diocese\, telling the stories of St. Nicholas\, St. Patrick\, St. Francis\, St. Joseph\, and this year: the Venerable Nelson Baker. \nVerses for the Day:  “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved\, he said to his mother\, ‘Woman\, behold\, your son.’” – John 19:26   \nThe breakfast is hosted at the Fatima Shrine – 1023 Swann Rd\, in Lewiston\, NY\, where we tie our breakfast in with the Shrine’s first Saturday Devotion.  We will meet for an optional breakfast in the cafeteria at 9:00 AM.  The schedule is as follows and you can come to one or all the segments: \n9:00 AM – Breakfast (optional – $6.50+) \n9:30 – 10:30 – Guest Performer – Michael Sacilowski   \n11:00 – Rosary/Confession \n11:30 – Mass \n12:15 – Adoration \nPlease join us as we share in fellowship while we worship our Lord and Savior\, Jesus Christ and honor His mother\, Mary. \nPlease RSVP to WNYMensministry@yahoo.com or 716-438-0002 so we know how much food we will need.  I look forward to seeing you Saturday.  Please bring friends\, we have plenty of room. \nGod bless\, we hope to see you there.

Fr. Bill enjoys music ministry\, and has recorded a number of CDs of original songs. He was an original member of the Voices of Mercy from St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy\, Buffalo\, NY where he is a Priest Associate. He has been featured on EWTN’s “Dana and Friends” and provided music for priest retreats in Ireland and elsewhere. Fr. DESCRIPTION:At the Fatima Shrine  \n1023 Swann Rd\, in Lewiston\, NY\, \nWe will tie our breakfast in with the first Saturday Devotion.  We will meet for an optional breakfast in the cafeteria at 9:00 AM.  The schedule is as follows and you can come to one or all of the segments: \n9:00 AM – Breakfast (optional – $7.50+) \n9:30 – 10:30 – Guest Speaker \nOur next breakfast will feature our guest speaker\, Deacon Michael Ficorilli.  Deacon Mike was ordained in 2014 and served for 9 years at St. Andrew’s in Kenmore.  He is currently serving in Family 18\, the Roman Catholic Community of Tonawanda.  He and his wife Lynne have been married 49 years and have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  They live on Grand Island. \nEverywhere we turn\, we hear disturbing news: war\, riots\, violence\, homelessness\, poverty\, death.  We turn to our government to help solve these problems; but who is best qualified to deal with the issues we face?  Do their beliefs align with ours?  How do we decide who is the best candidate?  It takes knowledge and understanding of the issues and the teachings of the Church.  Join us as we discuss the critical issues of the day and what the Church teaches about them. \n11:00 – Rosary/Confession \n11:30 – Mass \n12:15 – Adoration \nPlease join as we share in fellowship while we worship our Lord and Savior\, Jesus Christ. \nPlease RSVP to Ken Paul at WNYMensministry@yahoo.com or 716-438-0002 so we know how much food we will need.  I look forward to seeing you on December 3rd.  Please bring friends\, we have a lot of room. \n
