This evening at 6:30 in the Basilica, we will have a Healing Mass with Fr. John Adams. Music Ministry: Sr. Joanna

Fr. John Adams grew up in Duquesne, PA (in the Pittsburgh area).
He attended Pennsylvania State University as an undergraduate and majored in elementary and special education. He obtained his Master of Arts degree and his Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Fr. John is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist who has been involved with research and practice involving Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing, and those with developmental disabilities involving individuals and their families for over 45 years. He is fluent in sign language.
Within the Buffalo, his home parish was St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farnham, NY where he was the Director of Spiritual Life and a member of several ministries. He graduated from Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, NY where he obtained a Master of Divinity. Fr. John was ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest on June 7, 2014, for the Diocese of Buffalo. In his first years as a priest, he was a parochial vicar at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg, NY. He was then named as Temporary Administrator of St. Maximilian Parish in Corfu/East Pembroke. He was then assigned to Christ the King Seminary as an Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Assistant Director of Priestly Formation and eventual Vice President of Human Development and Mission Enrichment. Following the closure of the Seminary, he became the pastor and the rector of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the pastor of St. John’s parish in Olean, NY. His current assignment is the senior parochial vicar in the Catholic Family of Cheektowaga and the Coordinator of Healing Ministry for the Diocese of Buffalo.
