Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria,  Priest, medical doctor, and co-founder of the Barnabite order (a.k.a Clerics Regular of St. Paul or CRSP) promoted the practice of the Forty Hours, special devotion to Christ Crucified, encouraged the ringing of the bells at 3:00 p.m. on Fridays, in remembrance of Jesus’ death, and much more.
