Men’s Group (every first Saturday)

Come to our next Men’s Breakfast Lunch 1:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Fatima Shrine.  Our speaker is not available in the morning, so we will meet after Mass for lunch at 1:00 PM and the discussion will be at 1:30PM.

Our speaker will be Deacon Don Weigel and his topic will be:  What’s Up with the Synod?  You’ve heard about the Synod on Synodality – it’s a ground-breaking event in the Church and something every Catholic should know about. Join Deacon Don as he presents “The Top Ten Things to Know about the Synod” where he explains what a Synod is, and why this one is so important. Deacon Don will dispel misinformation and answer your questions about the Synod.

Deacon Don Weigel was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Buffalo in 2010. Deacon Don is currently assigned as the Diocesan Director for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in addition to being a Global Fellow for CRS and has a liturgical assignment at the central Buffalo parishes of Family #21.  He has also been the Co-Lead for Diocese’s participation in the world-wide Synod and has written about the Synod as well as having made multiple presentations to engage Catholics in the Synod all through the Church’s process.

The lunch is hosted at the Fatima Shrine – 1023 Swann Rd, in Lewiston, NY, where we tie our lunch in with the Shrine’s first Saturday Devotion.  We will meet for an optional lunch in the cafeteria at 1:00 PM.  The schedule is as follows and you can come to one or all the segments:

11:00 AM – Rosary/Confession

11:30 AM – Mass

12:15 PM – Adoration

1:00 PM – Lunch (optional – $10.00+) (Options: Bacon Cheeseburger, Chili, Soup & Sandwich, Fish Sandwich, Julienne Salad – all meals come with sides)

1:30 PM – Guest Speaker – Deacon Don Weigel
